Here is some advice, help and tips to get you started on the road to losing some of the weight and keeping it off.

One of the biggest factors in obesity is of course poor diet, and if this is your problem then of course with a little help you can change your diet and lifestyle to a healthier one. The number one downfall for the majority of people is snaking and unhealthy eating, the eating of junk or fast food rather than healthy and wholesome food. It is thought that we in the UK currently eat around 2 billion fast food meals every year and eat 675 million meals in restaurants.

It is a well known fact that restaurants and fast food are bigger portions than what is recommended and as such you should steer clear of them and instead watch your portion size and the calorie intake. The majority of people eat around 100 calories per day at least over what the recommended daily amount should be.

Exercise also plays an important factor in controlling your weight; around three quarters of the population of the UK fail to get the recommended amount of exercise. Start off on a slow plan of exercise and build up gradually. Walking is a great form as is swimming and cycling, however it is essential that you combine this with a good health diet.

If you are overweight then aim to lose no more than 2lbs a week in weight, if you cannot stick to a diet plan then have a word with your Doctor who can recommend a dietician to work with you. The average obese person can lose around 22lbs in 11 weeks and this can make a huge difference to their health.

Smaller portions, fewer snack and of course cutting down on the amount of fat that you eat in your diet is essential if you are to lose weight. Along with this plenty of exercise and fresh air is essential; devise a diet that you are able to stick with and which you wont feel deprived and an exercise routine that won?t lead to boredom.
